In The Observer Online there is an article re:Cracker Barrel yesterday - when the floor started crackling & buckling under one of the tables, and chairs started flying as people started running. The Fire Dept & Police stated that it was not a sinkhole. I know when you go in there, it smells a little damp and that they have had trouble in the past with a leaky roof, so wet floor maybe could have contributed to the situation. Article says it was business as usual this a.m. We always enjoy going there - lots of very nice people work at Cracker Barrel.
I love Cracker Barrel too - and they are a better cook than I. While I was working and often traveling between central Louisiana and New Orleans and Memphis at least quarterly and also to Fort Campbell and then Arkansas I found stopping at Cracker Barrel along the highway a great place to stop and rest, grab a bite to eat, use of a clean bathroom, and a place to 'check out' or return books-on-tape or CD ideal! Their turnip greens are to die for! My favorite non-breakfast meal there is the grilled spicy catfish, turnip greens, fried apples and a cornbread muffin.yum yum!
